Elderly Winona man killed in two-vehicle crash on Friday

West Plains, MO. – An elderly Winona man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Friday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred at 8:40 p.m. on Highway 60 at the west Winona city limits on September 8, 2023.

A southbound Chevy 1500 driven by 85-year-old Raymond Redman of Winona pulled from a county road into the path of an eastbound Dodge Ram 3500 driven by John Hampton, age 37 of Ellsinore, totaling both vehicles.

Redman was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. Hampton was not reported as being injured in the crash. The report states that Hampton had been wearing a seatbelt and Redman had not.

This crash was attended by the Missouri State Highway Patrol-Troop G, the Major Crash Investigation Unit, the Winona Volunteer Fire Department, and the Shannon County First Responders.
