West Plains, MO. – The West Plains Public Library is inviting the public to dive into the joys of reading this summer with Oceans of Possibilities, the summer reading program. This program will start on Tuesday, June 14 and run to Thursday, July 28. The program will kick off with a Block Party on June 14 from 10 a.m. to noon.
The kids program is divided into three age categories: Dolphins for ages 4 – 7, Stingrays for ages 8 – 11, and Sharks for ages 12 – 17. Dolphins and Stingrays will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m. Sharks will meet on Thursdays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Participants will be required to fill out reading logs during the event and will be able to earn points for books finished and hours of reading. Prizes for attendance and tickets for prize drawings will be given for each reading challenge completed.
All reading logs will be due on Friday, July 22. Grand prizes will be awarded to the top 3 in each age group on the last day of the Summer Reading Program.
