Excessive Heat & Thunderstorms in the Ozarks Today and Tomorrow

The National Weather Service has issued an announcement stating that not only severe thunderstorms will be possible tonight, but that excessive heat will occur today and tomorrow.

Temperatures are expected to not only rise up to a high of 96 degrees, but when calculating humidity and other effects, the wet-bulb temperature is expected to exceed 100 degrees at around 104.

Remember that while the average number of heat-related deaths exceeds 700 per year in the US, that heat-related illness is entirely preventable.

Keep yourself in a cool location and stay hydrated, and don’t forget to check on friends and neighbors to ensure the safety of those around you.

Watch for the warning signs of heat stroke or heat exhaustion. This can include confusion, slurred speech, seizures, nausea, heavy sweating, and more.
