Excessive Heat Warning In Effect Through Thursday, Stay Cool At These Locations

West Plains, MO. – A heatwave is striking the Midwest in full force. An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for most of Missouri and parts of Illinois, Kansas, and Kentucky through Thursday, July 7 at midnight. A Heat Advisory is in effect from western Kansas to western West Virginia and from central Louisiana in the south to the southern parts of Minnesota.

An Excessive Heat Warning is where dangerously hot conditions can cause heat index values to reach 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the risk for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working outside.
