Fatal Accident South of Houston

A Cabool man was killed and several others were injured in a four‑vehicle crash Saturday on U.S. 63, eight miles south of Houston. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 4:25 p.m. when a northbound 2026 Ford E‑350 rear‑ended a 2010 Ford Focus that was slowing to turn left. The impact pushed the Focus into the southbound lane, where it was struck by a GMC Sierra and a Chevrolet Equinox.

The 78‑year‑old Focus driver from Cabool died at the scene.

Five others suffered minor injuries, including the 18‑year‑old Ford E‑350 driver, a 24‑year‑old passenger, both occupants of the GMC Sierra, and the 75‑year‑old Equinox driver. All were transported to Texas County Memorial Hospital.

Troop G reports this is its 24th fatality of 2026, compared to 27 at this time last year.
