The West Plains Police Department and the West Plains Fire Department responded to Ozark Road reference a single vehicle accident. On arrival, Public Safety personnel located a Ford F350 Flatbed Truck pulling a large cattle trailer that had crashed into a tree on the side of the roadway and was jack-knifed across the roadway.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle had to be extricated from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was found to be deceased. A passenger in the vehicle had moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance.
The investigation of the accident indicates that the driver had an apparent medical emergency while driving, causing him to become unconscious and crashing into the tree.
The identity of the occupants of the vehicle are being withheld until proper notifications of family members can be made.
