Faulty Heater sparks Fire Investigation at WP City Hall

West Plains, MO – A faulty heater caused a disturbance this morning at City Hall in West Plains. An emergency call was placed at 8:00 AM for the smell of something burning. The West Plains Fire Department arrived and performed an investigation that took roughly 45 minutes to complete. A heater had been turned on that hadn’t been used recently and was the source of the burning smell. There were no damages to the building or city staff. 

Update: Original information was that the faulty unit was an air conditioner. This has been corrected.
