The City of West Plains announced Friday afternoon that the intersection of Fifth Street and Kentucky Avenue is now open to traffic traveling north-south on Kentucky and east on Fifth Street.
The intersection has been closed since March 28, 2022, and was expected to be closed for 60 days while improvements were implemented. Due to heavy rains in April and May, the intersection was closed for longer than expected, 102 days in total.
The connection of Fifth Street to U.S. Highway 63 will remain closed until new traffic signals are installed later this summer.
