Lanton, MO. – Late Thursday, the Lanton Volunteer Fire Department released a statement about a brush fire that completely destroyed an abandoned structure.
This event took place on Monday, September 28th. The fire was brought under control, and assistance was provided by the Howell Rural Fire District.

On Monday, Lanton Volunteer Fire Department crews responded to a reported brush fire that had spread to and caught an abandoned structure on fire.
Upon arrival, crews immediately began suppression efforts to contain the fire and protect the surrounding area.
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Howell County Rural Fire District #1 for their quick response and mutual aid assistance. Their crews provided additional manpower, brush trucks, and water, which were invaluable in helping us effectively manage the incident.
We truly appreciate the continued support and willingness of our neighboring departments to answer the call when needed. Mutual aid makes our communities stronger and our firefighters safer.
Thank you to all of the firefighters who responded and worked together on scene.
