First-Ever Mountain Grove Fire Academy to Begin Later This Year

Mountain Grove, MO. – The Mountain Grove Fire Department has recently set out to begin a process that allows those interested in being a fire fighting and safety professional to have a chance to begin their education in the field.

This new Mountain Grove Fire Academy will be taking place later this year in late spring through to mid fall, June 6th to October 26th. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 10pm, with classes listed as Hazardous Materials Awareness and Ops, and Fire 1 & 2.

These classes are expected to teach those who participate skills like fire suppression, vehicle extraction, pump operation, hazardous materials response, and more.

The cost for this program is $450 and will cover all needed materials for the academy. Those who aren’t affiliated with the Mountain Grove Fire Department are expected to have access to personal protective equipment (PPE), and a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
