First Weekend of November Deer Season is Over; Texas County in 2nd Place, Howell in 3rd

The first full weekend of the November Firearms Deer Season has ended, and numbers are in from the Missouri Department of Conservation.

According to the counts on the MDC’s page for harvest counts, the better part of 91 thousand deer were harvested over the weekend. Of these counts, the buck-to-doe ratio was 2 to 1.

As far as individual counties are concerned, Franklin County took the first-place spot with a total harvest count of 2,125. In the second and third-place spots were two local counties. Texas County was in second at 1,832, and Howell took third with 1,744.

Other local counties are numbered at 1,299 for Douglas County, 1,147 for Shannon County, 1,124 for Wright County, and Oregon County at 1,070.

The current deer season ends on November 21st, and a special CWD portion of the season will take place from the 22nd to the 26th.
