Mountain Home, AR. – A man from Flippin, AR. who has been incarcerated in the Baxter County Jail since January 10th, is facing additional charges after he was tied to a theft case on the 29th of December.
The police report was filed on January 2nd and detailed a victim who had their vehicle broken into. Stolen were a wallet, five credit cards, cash, personal ID documents, and a chainsaw.
During the investigation, it was found that the victim’s Lowe’s credit card had been used. Derek Baker and Cheri Becker were identified as the parties who had used the card. Interviews with the pair led to them admitting, separately, that the items were stolen and used.
Baker is now facing additional charges while in jail, including Felony Breaking or Entering, Felony Theft of Property, Misdemeanor Theft of Property, and a Felony Penalty Enhancement for being a habitual offender.
His bond on these charges will be set at $15,000.
