West Plains, MO. – A former Bakersfield teacher is being accused of having sex multiple times with a 16-year-old male over the summer of 2023.
Victoria Nicole Fowler, age 30 of Caulfield, is charged with three counts of 2nd-degree Statutory Rape and one count of 2nd-degree Statutory Sodomy.
The investigation into Fowler began on August 30th with the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office and Howell County Sheriff’s Office when law enforcement received screenshots from the teen’s cellphone that Fowler had taken of herself in the shower. A deputy with Ozark County interviewed Fowler and she admitted to having sex with the teen and having illicit images of the teen on her phone. (Note: the probable cause statement refers to these images as Child Pornography, which is “any obscene material depicting sexual conduct, contact, or performance, including a minor under the age of 18 as a participant or portrayed observer of the material.”)
According to the probable cause statement, Fowler admitted to meeting with the teen on three occasions in southwestern Howell County for sex between the dates of July 4th and August 1st. She also admitted to having performed oral sex on the child.
During an interview with the teen, he stated he had sent the suspect 20 photos of his genitals and began having sex with her on May 23, 2023, with the most recent encounter to have occurred at her residence in Caulfield on August 26th.
According to the Bakersfield R-IV website, Fowler had taught multiple math classes during the 2022-2023 school year and left the district to teach in Lutie for the 2023-2024 school year.
