Former CEO of Walmart and former Royals owner David Glass has passed away

BENTONVILLE, ARK – News has broken that former President and CEO of Walmart Inc., David Dayne Glass has passed away.  Glass was President and CEO for Walmart from 1988 to 2000.

Glass passed away on January 9 at the age of 84 from complications associated with pneumonia.

Glass owned the Kansas City Royals for 20 years before selling the team in November 2019.  Glass helped lead the Royals to the World Series in 2014 and 2015 as the Royals won the Championship in November 2015. 

Glass was the CEO of Walmart for 12 years and during the tenure, he guided the company through extensive expansion and financial growth. 

Glass was a native of Mountain View, MO.  He passed away in Bentonville, Arkansas on January 9 due to complications from pneumonia. 

A public Celebration of Life service to honor David Dayne Glass will be held on Monday, January 27 at 1 PM at Northwest Arkansas Fellowship Bible Church located at 1051 Pleasant Grove Road in Rogers, Arkansas.
