Four Arrested in Traffic Stop on Delivery of Controlled Substance Charges

Ava, MO. – Four individuals have been arrested as a result of a traffic stop on January 24th, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.

This traffic stop was initiated as Deputy Dering with Douglas County was responding to information from concerned citizens about a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was found at roughly 4:30 p.m. on West 76 Highway. The vehicle was parked at a residence that Dering had personal knowledge of. Knowing the vehicle didn’t belong, contact was made with the driver.

Two males and two females were inside, and it was noted that one of the passengers attempted to conceal something. K9 Zeus was deployed on the vehicle and alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics. After a search, numerous syringes and roughly 24 grams of methamphetamine were located and seized.

William Bryant, Aaron McFarlin, Felicia Batchelor, and Cheri Newark were all arrested on charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Meth, and Possession of drug Paraphernalia.
