In perhaps the first step of a potentially cold ending to 2022, tonight the entirety of our listening area, both Missouri and Arkansas, will see below-freezing temperatures, and with it comes a Freeze Warning courtesy of the National Weather Service.
This freeze warning is set to expire at 10am tomorrow morning, but every night over the next few days will see returns to these low values. Additionally, the National Weather Service even reports that record lows will possibly be replaced over the next few nights.
Residents within the area are urged to make sure your cold-weather precautions are in place; plants that can’t survive the cold should be moved inside, and pets or livestock that have trouble weathering these conditions should be properly accommodated for. In addition, ensure that no matter which fuel source you use for heating in your home, that it is stocked and that all heating devices are in working order. Lastly, make sure any exposed pipes are properly insulated to avoid any cracking or other damage.
