Freezing rain is likely to be a problem in our listening area tomorrow. The rain is expected to start after midnight with sleet before evolving into freezing rain, with temperatures expected to not rise above freezing until after noon. This means one can expect travel times to be impacted, if not outright canceled.
When freezing rain is set to become a possibility in your travel plans, the NWS advises that you slow down, avoid using cruise control, and leave plenty of distance between you and other vehicles.
Remember, it only takes one patch of ice in the right spot to cause an accident, and roughly 1/10th of an inch to 1/4th of an inch of freezing rain is expected, which is more than enough to cause paved roads to become slick. Plan for safety while on the roadway tonight and tomorrow.
