Freezing Rain This Week? It’s Possible – A Talk with the National Weather Service

The new year is starting and one thing a lot of meteorologists in our area are looking at is the chance of freezing rain or snow toward the end of the weekend.

The forecast is a bit hard to pin down this far out, but estimations are fluctuating between various possible forms of precipitation, and various overall amounts between 1 to 4 inches.

To give us an idea of what to look for we spoke to Shelby Melto, meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

To summarize, while various forms of wintery precipitation are on the table, it’s not possible to know exactly what we’ll be running into this weekend just yet. Make sure you’re staying up-to-date on the changing forecast and work it into your own expectations.
