Friday Morning Crash Injures Five near Mtn. View

Mountain View, Mo. – A two vehicle crash Friday morning near Mountain View injured five people. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred at 9:45 a.m. on US 60, three miles east of Mountain View.

A southbound 2007 Dodge Ram driven by Deborah Mattes, age 67 of Birch Tree, failed to yield to an eastbound 2016 Jeep Wrangler driven by Maria Martinez Pinzon, age 28 of Bristol, Ill. The impact caused both caused the Dodge to overturn and knock down a stop sign.

No one in the Ram had been wearing a seatbelt, resulting in serious injuries for a 17 year old male passenger and Steven Prediger, 59 of Mountain View. The teen was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield and Prediger was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare. Mattes suffered minor injuries as did Pinzon and her passenger, Carlos Valdez, 32 of Bristol. Those with minor injuries sought their own medical treatment.
