West Plains, Mo. – A severe thunderstorm dealt damage to the baseball fields in the city of West Plains on Friday night. Storm damage toppled a tree at Kimes Field on Bratton Avenue during the storm. The tree fell and has damaged bleachers and other parts of the spectator area. A power pole on Bratton Avenue was also damaged and caused a power outage that lasted until 1 AM Saturday morning.
Kimes Field is part of the Evans Sports Complex in the city of West Plains. Kimes Field sits along Howell Creek and was heavily damaged in the 2017 Flood. Kimes Field, along with Watkins Field and many other sports fields along the Howell Creek were reconstructed following the flood.
