Gainesville Elementary School staff member tests positive for COVID-19

The Gainesville School District has notified parents and guardians that an elementary staff member tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, August 26. The school district states it is “in constant communication with the Ozark County Health Department as we follow their guidance. The district cannot release the name of the staff member.”
The Ozark County Health Department is conducting contact tracing and will contact anyone at high risk of exposure. “If you are not contacted by the Ozark County Health Department, you are considered to be at low risk for contracting COVID-19 but should monitor for symptoms,” the school stated in its letter to parents.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, a rash in children.
