Gainesville, MO. – On Sunday February 11th, a man was assaulted while in a business which led to the arrest of the perpetrator of the assault in the same day.
According to the probable cause affidavit on the arrest, Deputies Moss and Sherman arrived to the call of the assault, which appeared to have stopped as quickly as it started. The aggressor, identified as Carl Foster, a 53-year-old Gainesville resident, arrived in his vehicle at the Antler package store and began striking the victim, before throwing him across the room and continuing his assault. As employees broke up the one-sided attack, Foster left in the same vehicle he came in.
Later that day, Foster was located at his residence and was taken into custody. A straw was found on his person with a powdery substance inside that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Foster now faces charges of Felony 3rd Degree Assault, Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
