WEST PLAINS, Mo. — The Harlin Museum of West Plains has a new display featuring the artwork of two talented ladies from Cherokee Village, Ark.
“Friends: Creative Bond, Lifetime Journey,” features the work of painters Sheila Donley and Vicki Lamb, who recently developed a friendship through activities at the Arts Center of North Arkansas (ACNA).
Donley began with oil painting 25 years ago and has perfected her craft by taking art classes and attending annual creative conventions in Ohio and Las Vegas. Until recently, Donley was the president of the ACNA. Currently, she teaches art classes in Batesville and at the Harlin Museum.
Lamb, who began as a self-taught artist, has painted with watercolors and acrylics since the age of 15 and was already winning awards for her artistic endeavors in high school. After marrying, she traveled abroad with her husband during his military service and she immersed herself in the artistic culture and famed art galleries of Europe. In 2010, Lamb earned her BAS from Dallas Baptist University with a concentration in art. In 2016, she completed her MA with a concentration in painting. In November 2017, Lamb and her husband moved to Cherokee Village where she joined the ACNA and began displaying her work in galleries and venues and entering art competitions throughout the region.
Their artwork, which will be offered for sale, can be seen in the Hathcock Gallery of the Harlin Museum through Sunday, November 3.
The museum is open to the public and charges no admission to visitors; donations are always welcomed. Hours of operation are Thursday & Friday, 12pm – 6pm and Saturday & Sunday, 12pm – 4pm.
