Missouri – The Missouri 911 Service Board approved GIS Data Remediation Grants for 18 counties that totaled $1,153,018.
The grant money is going toward the NG911 program. Right now emergency response professionals need to know a caller’s exact location to ensure that calls are routed to the correct public safety answering points. With this grant, counties will be able to upgrade their GSI system to allow for quicker and more accurate 911 call routing and to meet the necessary NG911 data standards. The Missouri 911 Service Board partnered with industry experts and the Missouri Department of Public Safety, to ensure this funding goes to efforts to make improvements across the state. This project is being fully funded by the Missouri American Rescue Plan Act 2021.
The counties funded by this grant are Barton, Bollinger, Carroll, Carter, Clark, Date, Gasconade, Grundy, Henry, Iron, Monroe, Oregon, Reynolds, Scott, St Francois, Set Genevieve, Stone, and Wayne.
