A Gatewood man was seriously injured Tuesday night in a motorcycle crash on MO‑142, about three miles west of Doniphan.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 49‑year‑old rider swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway, causing his 2006 Honda Roadking to overturn. Troopers report he was wearing a safety device but he suffered serious injuries.

He was airlifted by Survival Flight to Region 1 in Memphis for treatment.
