Georgia Man Sets Speeding Arrest Record in Howell County

West Plains, Mo. – A man from Georgia spent time in the Howell County Jail on Friday after being arrested for a driving at a record-breaking speed. Efrem Slavik, age 21 of Winder, GA., was arrested Friday morning at 7:52 a.m. by Missouri State Highway Patrol for driving over 2.5 times the speed limit.

Slavik was arrested for driving 163 miles per hour in a 65 MPH zone. Additionally, he was charged with resisting arrest and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was held in the Howell County Jail on a 24-hour hold.
