Governor Kehoe Proclaims May as Beef Month in Missouri

Governor Mike Kehoe has officially proclaimed May as Beef Month in Missouri, honoring the vital contributions of the state’s cattlemen and cattlewomen. The proclamation was presented during a ceremony at the Missouri Capitol to members of the Missouri Beef Industry Council, Missouri Cattlemen’s Association, and local beef producers.

Beef production plays a crucial role in Missouri’s $93.7 billion agriculture industry, generating nearly $2 billion in sales and supporting more than 40,000 jobs. Missouri ranks third nationally in the number of beef cows, with nearly two million head.
