West Plains, MO. – Five of the six individuals charged with child abuse and endangering the welfare of a child have been the target of a grand jury indictment.
The five are Barbara Baker, Cheryl Silva, Karen Gore, Teresia Huddleston, and Barbara Stark. Vernetta Burgess was not listed in the Grand Jury Indictment but will face charges on Thursday, Nov. 10 at the Howell County Courthouse.
The five that have been indicted will next go before the court for arraignment on Friday, November 18 in Howell County.
The six persons involved in this case were charged following an investigation where evidence, including video, showed the individuals abusing an autistic boy multiple times while employed by the Ozark Horizon State School in West Plains.
