Team representatives highlighted the dedicated work ethic of this season’s student-athletes, who balance rigorous academic schedules at the West Plains campus with the demanding physical toll of rodeo practice and travel. The program features athletes competing across a variety of traditional events, including barrel racing, team roping, breakaway roping, and roughstock events.

Coaching staff emphasized that internal development and recruiting have been foundational to the program’s steady growth. The primary focus remains on refining fundamental mechanics, ensuring livestock performance is peaking, and building the mental toughness required to handle the high-pressure environment of regional multi-day rodeos.

With several key regional events on the horizon, the Grizzlies are aiming to position individual riders for qualification spots in the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR). Program coordinators expressed optimism about the team’s trajectory, noting that the community’s strong support for Grizzly Athletics continues to play a vital role in providing the resources necessary for the program to thrive.

As the season progresses, MSU-WP rodeo athletes remain focused on climbing the regional standings and showcasing the grit of the Grizzly athletic program on a broader stage.
