Groundbreaking for West Plains Solar Farm rescheduled for April 8

A groundbreaking ceremony for the West Plains Solar Farm will be held Thursday, April 8 at 10 a.m, near the old landfill north of town off County Road 1770. The site will be located on 40 acres and will be the largest municipal-owned solar farm in Missouri.

In the first year of production, the West Plains Solar Farm is expected to generate 10.8 Megawatts of electricity, which is enough energy to power over 1,945 homes.
