Hartshorn Man Seriously Injured After Truck Crashes Into Horse-drawn Cart

Houston, MO. – A Hartshorn man was hospitalized Thursday morning after a vehicle crash into his horse-drawn cart near Summersville. According to the Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred on Highway KK, seven miles north of Summersville at 7:25 a.m.

A southbound 1998 Chevy pickup driven by a 16-year old male ran into the rear of the animal drawn vehicle. Alvin Shetler, age 25 of Hartshorn, was seriously injured in the crash and taken by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
