WEST PLAINS, MO – The Howell County Health Department will offer Heart Health Screenings and testing during the month of February as part of American Heart Health Month. The Center for Disease Control states that Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, killing more than 859,000 Americans yearly.
People who could be at an increased risk for heart disease with factors such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, a family history of heart disease, or are a current or former smoker are urged to come and participate.
The Heart Health Screenings include cholesterol screenings, glucose level testing, blood pressure checks and others.
To be eligible, you must be one of the first 50 persons to register to ensure your participation. You can register for participation in the “All Heart” program by calling Health Educator Dawn Hicks at (417) 256-7078. The Howell County Health Department is located at 180 Kentucky Street in West Plains.
