MOUNTAIN VIEW, MO — The community is invited to gather at Veterans Park in Mountain View this Saturday, August 29, for a special evening of remembrance honoring the 13 U.S. service members who lost their lives in the attack at Abbey Gate in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Hosted by Honor and Remember, the evening will include a special Gold Star Flag presentation to the mother of Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover, one of the 13 service members killed in the August 26, 2021 attack.
The ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m.
At 8:00 p.m., Honor and Remember will formally present the Gold Star Flag to Staff Sgt. Hoover’s mother in recognition of his service, sacrifice and enduring legacy.
At 8:30 p.m., those in attendance will join together for a candlelight vigil honoring all 13 service members lost at Abbey Gate:
The Mountain View community and surrounding area are encouraged to attend and help provide a strong show of support for this Gold Star family while remembering the lives and sacrifices of all 13 service members.
