Howell Co.reports 13 additional COVID-19 cases

The Howell County Health Department reports that an additional thirteen cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the county. This brings the year to date total number of cases to two hundred and fifty-four.

Currently, there are sixty-four known active cases in Howell County. Of these sixty-four active cases, two are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

All thirteen of the new cases reside in the West Plains area. Contact tracing investigations into these cases are ongoing. Positive cases and significant exposures to cases are currently being notified and are being place on isolation or quarantine.

Nine of the cases are considered community spread and four have been linked to known cases.

Nearly all of the area schools have experienced cases and/or significant exposures. A number of students and staff have been placed on isolation or quarantine. West Plains R-7 experiencing the greatest impact, having a considerable number of students being placed on quarantine due to exposures to confirmed cases
