Howell County Health Department reports that an additional four cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the county. This brings the year to date total number of cases to 169. Currently, there are 23 known active cases in the county. Of the 23 cases, two are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.
Two of the new cases reside in the Willow Springs area and two live in the West Plains area. All four cases are currently isolating under public health guidance. The source of infections for each case appears to be community spread, or infection was from an unknown source. Significant contacts to these cases have been notified by the health department.
