The Howell County Health Department reports that an additional two cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the county. This brings the year to date total number of cases to 155. Currently, there are 12 known active cases in the county.
Of the 12 cases, two are currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Both of the new cases identified reside in the West Plains area. Both cases are currently isolating under public health guidance.
One of the cases is considered community spread, or the source of exposure cannot be identified.
The second case has been linked to a known case.
Significant contacts to these cases have been notified by the health department. Exposure to the general public is not a concern with either case.
