Howell County Commission declares State of Emergency In Howell County

Howell County Commission has issued Resolution 2020-R01 of a State of Emergency in Howell County.

March 27th, 2020 In regards to the Orders Set forth by the President of the United States, and the World Health Organization as well as the Governor of Missouri and the Howell County Health Department, as the Known virus COVID-19 being recognized as a Pandemic and in support of the Howell County Health Department, The Howell County Commission has issued a Resolution of a State of Emergency for Howell County Missouri in support of the guidelines set forth by the Howell County Health Department.

This Resolution not only supports the Howell County Health Department but is to notify the public of the seriousness of this virus as well as invoke any laws and or statutes of the state of Missouri for the protection of lives and or property in Howell County as pursuant to identified Chapters of 192.300RSMo and CSR 20-20-050.3.

This is not a lock down or stay at home order for the Rural Residence of Howell County and as for the Cities of West Plains, Willow Springs and Mountain View, within you will have to check with your local city hall to find out information if you have questions within their city limits as they may or may not have ordinance’s in place in regards to the outbreak.

As of today’s date at 10am 03/27/2020 Howell County has no positive tested cases of the virus.

The Howell County Commission asks that all adhere to safe practices during this time and follow the orders of the Howell County Health Department, which again we will share on our page as well.

The State of Emergency Resolution filed by the Howell County Clerk will be in effect from 12:01am March 30, 2020 until 12:01am April 13, 2020 to coincide with actions taken by the Howell County Health Authority and may be extended if necessary or terminated upon subsequent order that the Emergency no longer exists.


Again the Howell County Commission expresses their commitment to Howell County Residences by exercising the utmost diligence in support of the Howell County Health Departments Role for the duration of this event.
