West Plains, MO. – Yesterday, Howell County Commissioner Ralph Riggs released an official announcement on a contract for debris cleanup following all of the storm damage Howell County has experienced in 2025. That statement can be read below.
Howell County has partnered with CTC Disaster Response, a nationwide disaster response company, to manage the cleanup of tornado debris along county roads. Starting April 24, five crews equipped with large debris trucks will be working throughout southern Howell County, along the storm path. The debris will be transported to a collection site in Pomona.
Residents should be aware that roads may be temporarily closed as crews load and remove debris. We ask for your patience and understanding as these cleanup efforts are underway. Cleanup is estimated to take approximately 60 days.
We ask that residents avoid areas where cleanup crews are actively working, follow all road closure signs and detours and keep children and pets away from debris piles and cleanup equipment.
Howell County is committed to ensuring the safety of our residents during this cleanup operation. We appreciate the support and cooperation of the community as we work together to recover from the tornado’s impact.
