The Howell County Sheriff’s Office has made the inmate roster for the Howell County Adult Detention Center available for public view on the Office website. This will aid transparency efforts by allowing the public to see who is currently in custody and the total number of inmates that the Adult Detention Center has in custody at any given moment.
The County of Howell Adult Detention Center (ADC) was completed in 1980 and later expanded in 1997 in order to house 50 inmates. The detention center houses inmates who are waiting to go to trial, those who have been convicted of a crime and sentenced to serve time at the detention center. It also holds inmates for other local jurisdictions as space is available. The Howell County Sheriff’s Office ADC operates in accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) of 2003, the Missouri Sheriff’s Association Core Jail Standards and the Department of Justice guide for Sheriff Effective Jail Operations.
