West Plains, MO. – The Howell County Sheriff’s Office has recently implemented a device within the Howell County Jail, that promises to drastically increase security and lower the possibility of smuggling within the facility.
The jail has now been outfitted with a full body scanner by the name of “Conpass Full Body X-Ray System”. This new device was purchased with approval from County Commissioners through ARPA funds, and has been installed at the entrance of the Adult Detention Center.

Training has been completed with installation and the new device is ready to be used going forward. The system has been reported as having been producing radiation at a rate that is only 1/400th of a hospital X-Ray.
