The Howell County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) will hold their Board of Supervisors Election and 2022 Pasture Spraying Cost-Share Sign-up on Tuesday February 22, 2022. The event is held at the USDA/NRCS Office located at 3210 Hoover Drive in West Plains.
Candidates participating in the election for District II are Phil Cahoj and Jason Poor. In District IV, Susie Williams is running unopposed. Write-in candidates are allowed. Eligible farm and/or land owners in Howell County will be able to participate in the election and sign-up for the 2022 Pasture Spraying Cost-Share program. The election will be open all day on Tuesday with lunch provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Howell County SWCD has state cost-share funds available to help farmers apply herbicides and pesticides to control unwanted weeds, brush, and other agriculture pests on their properties. We are seeking new applicants to participate in the program.
