West Plains, MO. – Despite record-low temperatures in the Ozarks over the past few days, and peak alerts being in put in place for the inevitable energy demand, power consumption was lower than expected.
Howell-Oregon Electric Coop wishes to thank the public for their mindfulness towards the energy issue regarding this winter storm. According to Stephanie Beltz-Price, the wholesale power provide for the entire region saw a decrease of over 150 megawatts of energy. As a scale of reference, Howell Oregon Electric Coop, at its peak, was roughly 125 megawatts.
