Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative Issues Peak Alert

West Plains, MO. – The Howell-Oregon Electric Coop has issued a new peak alert as of today. This is because high temperatures are causing higher demands on the electrical grid.

This peak alert is issued from 2pm to 7pm today. This peak alert could mean higher overall electrical costs for the area.

To conserve power and to avoid potential increases on monthly electrical costs, turn your thermostat up a few degrees to minimize AC runtimes. Limit the use of appliances in general, but especially those with high power consumption or those that produce additional heat, such as ovens and dishwashers. Unplug any unused devices and turn off any lights or other electronics.

A peak alert for tomorrow has not been issued, but is still possible.
