West Plains, Mo. – Electric Cooperatives around the state of Missouri are known to help each other out when the going gets tough and nothing has caused a tough situation in years like the storms that moved through the Midwest Friday night. Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative (HOE) has sent two crews to assist the damage that was caused in the weekend storms.
Ozark Radio News spoke with Dakota Bates of HOE on how co-ops stick together when disaster strikes:
The crews will be working with the Pemiscot-Dunklin Electric Cooperative (PDEC) based in Bragg City, Missouri to assist with restoring to co-op members through the region. PDEC provides power to the counties of Pemiscot, Dunklin, and parts of New Madrid. Hundreds of people were out of power as tornados swept through parts of Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois, Arkansas, and Tennessee.
