West Plains, MO. – Today marks the third day that many will be waking up without electricity within the listening area. Howell Oregon Electric Cooperative crews have been working day and night to repair the system, but many still remain without power.
As of last night, HOECoop released a statement stating around 7,700 members are without power. A call to them this morning has revealed numbers are closer to roughly 5,000 as of around 6:30am. They have stated that they have brought in even more crews from outside locations to assist in the repairs, and with that their overall crew size has nearly doubled.
People online have rallied in support around the struggling workers who are putting in effort around the clock, but many in need are still left without power. However, with any luck, most repairs will be taken care of today, according to a representative from Howell-Oregon.
One Facebook user online took to the page of Howell-Oregon to issue a prayer to the hard-working linemen:
Howell Oregon has added that linemen may, at times, be forced to turn the power off temporarily as a measure of safety while restoring power to other members. Remember, if you need to report an outage, you can do so by calling 417 256 2131, or by going online to hoecoop.org
Stay safe, stay warm, and best wishes while you continue to endure.
