Howell & Shannon Counties Collaborate to Arrest Wanted Man in Birch Tree, MO.

Birch Tree, MO. – On Thursday, September 26th, the town of Birch Tree was abuzz, with citizens noticing the law enforcement response happening within their town.

According to a recent address from the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, this is due to a standoff with a wanted man who barricaded himself inside a local residence.

The man arrested by the end was 39-year-old Jimmy Jones. Armed with a knife and a hatchet, the man had locked himself away, only to be driven out by non-lethal tactics employed by the Howell County SWAT Unit and the Shannon County Sheriff’s Department. Jones was then handcuffed and arrested.

Jones had active felony warrants out of Colorado and had also been involved in a domestic assault earlier that day.
