West Plains, Mo. – Children who attend who attend Howell Valley R-1 School in West Plains will have a new exercise in P.E. in the new year: learning to ride a bike. The Howell Valley Foundation has funded the “All Kids Bike Kindergarten P.E. Program”, a program designed to teach Kindergarten and 1st grade kids how to ride bikes while at school.

On the last day of school before winter break, December 17, the school hosted a Bike Assembly Party, attended by students, teachers, parents, and family members. Those participating helped assemble the 24 2-in-1 balance-to-pedal conversion bikes. The school also received 24 helmets for students and five years of curriculum support from the Strider Bike Education Foundation, a non-profit that donates pedal-less bikes to organizations serving children.

Those in attendance managed to assemble all 24 bikes in 13 minutes. Coach Chad Dixon shared how pleased he was with everyone willing to help out:
Students will begin using the bikes in the Spring semester of 2022.
