Marion County, AR. – On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office released a statement saying that wolf hybrids got loose near Wandas Mountain near Yellville, Arkansas.
40 hybrid wolves escaped into the community from a residence in Yellville, Arkansas. An investigation was done by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff Alexander visited the owner of the hybrid wolves on the morning of March 12 after getting reports of hybrid wolves in the community. The owner confirmed that the hybrids did dig out of their enclosure and that almost all of the escaped animals had returned to their home. Of the 40 total hybrids owned 6 of the wolf hybrids have yet to be found. These animals are unaccounted for, and according to Sheriff Alexander’s sheriff statement the owner says that if they cause any trouble, they will need to be disposed of.
Sheriff Alexander also reported that upon visiting the residence he did see several of the hybrids that had returned to the residence residing in the enclosed yard, and that they seemed to be well-fed and well-cared for.
