Baxter County, AR. – On August 15, 2024, the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from a motorist about a nude body floating down Moccasin Creek shortly after 8:00 a.m.
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office just released an update on the identity of the deceased male. After a fingerprint scan, the man was determined to be 50-year-old Rickey Joe Millsap of Mountain Home. The circumstances of Millsap’s death are still under investigation.
In the original media release, the Sheriff’s Office stated that deputies and other responders arrived on the scene to find a nude decomposing body floating in the creek. They canvassed the residences in the area and were not able to find any information. The Mountain Home Police Department also responded with a drone, which he flew over the general area to look for evidence but found none.
They are trying to determine if the death was an accident or had other motives behind it.
