West Plains, Mo. – An intoxicated Winona man is recovering from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash Friday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 10:45 p.m. on Highway 106, three miles east of Eminence.
A 2005 Ford Windstar driven by Cody Wilkes, age 44 of Winona, ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned. The uninsured Wilkes had not been wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries in the crash. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. Wilkes was released for medical treatment and taken by Mercy Ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment.
